When The Best Time to Post on TikTok for Creators?

Hm… When the best time to post on TikTok? When you publish on TikTok at the ideal time. The post goes viral, you get an influencer like, you receive a ton of followers, and maybe even a White House visit (it might happen?).

As you may be aware, there is no single optimal time to post on TikTok, even for your own account, but there are some sweet spots to aim for in order to achieve the best results.

When The Best Time to Post on TikTok for Getting Engagement?

Unlike the ideal time to post on Instagram, which has been the topic of dozens of studies, TikTok now appears to have only one. It belongs to Influencer Marketing Hub, which studied 100,000 TikTok videos for engagement rates. Here’s what it discovered:

The best times to post on TikTok are Tuesday at 9 a.m., Thursday at 12 a.m., and Friday at 5 a.m. We got this data also from snaptiktok.org that people love to download TikTok videos around that time.

The following is a breakdown from Influencer Marketing Hub (* signifies exceptionally strong engagement):

When The Best Time to Post on TikTok
  • Monday: 6am, 10am, 10 pm
  • Tuesday: 2am, 4am, *9am
  • Wednesday: 7am, 8am, 11pm
  • Thursday: 9am, *12pm, 7pm
  • Friday: *5am, 1pm, 3pm
  • Saturday: 11am, 7pm, 8pm
  • Sunday: 7am, 8am, 4pm

We can also detect some bigger tendencies in general:

  • People use TikTok frequently throughout the day.
  • For the start of the week, it appears that earlier is preferable.
  • The optimum time periods on Tuesday and Saturday are the closest together, so you might be able to take advantage of it.

How to Find The Best Time to Post TikTok Videos

The times should only be used as a guideline in any study like this. Because each account is unique, it’s best to figure out what the optimal time is to publish on TikTok.

1. Develop The Persona

Any social media marketing strategy must include this. Make sure you have a thorough understanding of your TikTok audience’s lifestyle.

This entails inventing identities and putting yourself in their shoes for a day. When are they busy, when are they not busy, when are they bored, when are they anxious, when are they social?

For example, if your target audience is children, soon after school is a good time to advertise, however if your target audience is working professionals, lunchtime or late at night is a good time to advertise.

This will give you a general idea of when they’re most likely to be on TikTok, as well as what some of your content’s subjects should be.

2. Upgrade to Premium

A Pro account is completely free! Select Privacy and settings from your profile by tapping the hamburger icon in the top right corner. Switch to the Pro Account option.

You can access analytics by tapping on the same hamburger button, then Privacy and settings, then Analytics once you’re all set up. These are some of them:

  • Over the last seven or 28 days, video views, profile views, and follower count have all increased.
  • Content: views from each video during the last seven days, which ones were on FYP, and individual insights for each video (more on that soon).
  • Followers: top territories, gender, total number of followers, and the holy grail: peak engagement time.

3. The Analytics

It’s not necessary to post around 6 p.m. just because your followers are most active at that time.

Owen Video explains in his YouTube video on TikTok analytics that despite his peak time is 6 p.m., he’ll upload on TikTok around 1 p.m. so the video may begin accumulating engagement and then peak around 6 p.m. Does that make sense?

Well, those are the explanations on when the best time to post on TikTok. Now, it is your time to boost the engagement!
